Happy Mother's Day!

I like to bring this one back every now and again! Me and mom,  1980.
This post is almost exclusively composed of pictures from our Mother's Day weekend, which ended up being a bit of a whirlwind.  We had not one, but TWO sets of grandparents visiting - my mom and dad (Mary and Bob), and Clark's dad and stepmom (Grandpa and Grandma).  I didn't capture many of the actual activities that went on, in part because there was a bit of a divide - the men spent quite a bit of time replacing the door between the garage and the house (long overdue, and not something Clark could have done by himself), and the women entertained the kids at the hotel pool and beyond.  Yes, yes,  a stereotypical gender divide, I know, but to be fair, I'm not super capable of much other than lounging in a pool and barking orders at this stage in the game.

With Grandma and Grandpa, right before they took off.  Clark looking fashionable in his work gloves.

With Mary and Bob, the next day.  Notice Juniper's bangs - something I had been gently discouraging, due to, as the hair dresser put it, her "wall of cowlick".  But the heart wants what the heart wants! She's pretty pumped about them, anyhow.
One more with my parents, just to get in a rare belly profile shot.  I'm 33 weeks currently.
Mom's really great about practicing piano with the kids when she visits.  That is almost always my job (Juniper, at least, has surpassed Clark's piano abilities at this point), and I am far less patient than my mom!

After my mom and dad left on Sunday morning, we took off for a romp around Peggy's Cove. It was a gorgeous sunny day, almost summer-worthy when we left the house, but right by the coast it was much, MUCH chillier.  We had fun, none-the-less (with, I swear, half of the rest of Halifax - it was packed!!), and Linden finally got to shoot a film he'd been envisioning since watching a couple of Buster Keaton movies.  Don't worry, I've included the finished product at the end of this post!

Behind-the-scenes shot of the movie being filmed
The actor/director himself
Group shot!  Notice Juniper wearing Clark's hoodie - we were all a tad bit chilly. Except Linden, who apparently never gets cold.
Quick trip to the Ministry of Magic - who knew there was access at Peggy's Cove?
Linden trepidatiously holds a lobster on our way back to the car.
Posing in front of some lobster traps, because this is the sort of thing one does at Peggy's Cove.
After Peggy's Cove (and a quick trip to Value Village on the way home so Juniper and I could peruse the used books), it was late enough to justify going out to dinner instead of just heading home and figuring out a meal.  Clark and the kids had put on a lovely waffle brunch earlier in the day, anyhow, so a trip to a restaurant seemed like a nice cap to the Mother's Day weekend.  While waiting for our food, Linden drew me a tiny little picture in Clark's pocket notebook of our trip to Peggy's Cove, which I thought was cute enough to include:

Highlights: my big belly with a heart beside it, and a seagull as big as me, about to dive for an unsuspecting fish.  That building, of course, is the Peggy's Cove lighthouse.
And finally, two random shots from earlier in the week:

Both kids have been SUPER digging the watercolour crayons and professional paper that my brother Michael brought them when he came to visit.  There have been some masterful works of art come out of it so far!

The weekend before last was spent, in large part, cutting down some dead and blown-over trees in our yard.  Linden was more than happy to get out his saw and help.

And finally, here is Linden's video!  In case you miss the point of it, it is all about camera trickery and physical comedy, featuring Linden as a diligent rock-climber trying to scale a massive boulder. Enjoy!
