Fredericton

Fredericton Double Rainbow! (from Angelview Park)
This blog post is coming at you live from sunny Fredericton, New Brunswick!  Early Friday morning, we stuffed a few last bags in the car, and took off on an epic road trip.  It was a long haul (around 10 hours elapsed time), and I won't pretend that it was a joyous way to spend a day, but we did it!  So far there has been a whole lot of hanging out with all the Fredericton-based family that we don't see nearly enough, and I have been taking advantage of the nice weather (and all the extra willing people spending time with the kids) to walk along the beautiful riverside trails as much as possible.

Much to everyone's delight, my sister Faye's friend Seeka, along with her two adorable kids (Tevai and Miali), and her cousin Marlie, stopped by on their own (much much more epic) road trip - from Sioux Lookout (Ontario) to Glovertown (Newfoundland).  They stayed at my parent's house for a night en route, so we got in a whole bunch of playtime.

Linden even let Tevai have a go at his brand new fire truck, which has not left his side since we arrived in Fredericton

Though the kids were sad to see their new friends leave so quickly, there has been other non-stop action, such as the much-anticipated swimming in the Bakers' pool:

... GO!

A double rainbow!! A-mazing. I also loved seeing Linden's jump in a series.

The double rainbow actually WAS pretty amazing, Kata! And the funny thing about Linden and the pool is that he is clearly fearless about all the things you might expect a 2-year old to show some trepidation toward (jumping off the side, head under water, swimming solo, etc), but at one point he started screaming "it's an ant! an ANT! Get it away! It's chasing me!", and then proceeded to exit the water as quickly as humanly possible. Not so fearless after all!
